Summer Mission at Trinita: June 24-August 12, 2012
Trinita's Family Life Development Program is compassionately coordinated by our sisters at Trinita Retreat Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Trinita is a camp-like setting of 123 acres in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains. The summer program serves inner-city families who come for a week-long stay. Each week is structured with faith, fun and family activities.
MCV is seeking volunteers (men and women, young and old, single and married) to serve at this life-giving, rural mission this summer. As with all MCV summer missions, you must be 18 years or older to apply. Volunteers are needed to assist in every aspect of the program. A typical day at Trinita includes family sharing time, peer group time, arts and crafts, swimming, hiking and more! The community at Trinita is very diverse, and many of the families are bilingual, speaking Spanish and English.
There is an Orientation Week for new volunteers beginning June 24. New volunteers must participate in the Orientation Week. Family groups begin arriving Saturday, June 30 and follow for 6 consecutive weeks, ending August 11. Volunteers do not need to be available the entire 6 weeks of family groups, rather, they can decide which weeks they are willing to serve.
Some stay only a week, some three weeks, others the whole Summer. Volunteers at Trinita are people of all ages who come from all over the country. A diverse group of 10-12 volunteers will be selected for each week. Come have fun while serving our families!

What former volunteers are saying about their time at Trinita...
"I constantly challenged myself and I realized I have more in me than I thought. I also learned a lot about the Holy Spirit and have come closer to discovering my vocation."
"The presence of God in relationships was always evident. Whether it was in fostering a new one, strengthening an existing one, or repairing a broken one, the Holy Spirit was always at work within the relationships among the people at Trinita."
"I could not have imagined a place so refreshing, yet so full of history and tradition, so structured yet carefree, and so busy yet so peaceful. It was this beauty that set me at ease the moment I arrived."
